How they work
An AUTOTERM air heater burns a small amount of diesel in a sealed combustion chamber. It:
- Draws combustion air from outside the vehicle.
- Exhausts combustion gases outside.
- Blows clean, heated cabin air through ducting into the living area.
Maintenance
To keep the heater running reliably:
- Run it at full power for 15–30 minutes occasionally to help reduce soot build-up.
- Keep the fuel clean and avoid repeatedly stopping the heater during its shutdown cycle.
- Inspect the exhaust, intake, and fuel lines periodically.
- Check battery voltage, as low voltage is a common cause of starting problems.
Energy Efficient
One of the standout features of the Autoterm Diesel Heater is its energy efficiency. Diesel heaters consume minimal fuel while providing maximum heat output, making them an economical choice for long-term campers.
